Hello List,
I have a transcript of the above "diary" of Charles Fear, detailing =
daily
happenings in the Wedmore district ( he appears to be in Blackford)
recording Births, Deaths and Marriages, the weather, the price of =
apples, departures for the USA, events in Wedmore and around, the start =
of train travel in North Somerset.
Family names mentioned are Fear, Duckett, Salmon, Puddy, Green, Phippen, =
Tucker, Barrow, Hardridge, Latcham, Glanville, Popham, Redman, =
Barratts, Althorpe, Champeny, Parker, Burrow, Lanes, Bagworth, Banwell, =
Browning, Reeve, Lovel, Isgar, and many many more.
Perhaps the most bizarre entry is the one recording his brother =
William's marriage to his daughter Jane in Trinity Chapel, Bristol on =
March 7th 1878, after his first wife Louisa had died in 20th March 1873.
The original transcript is in the R.O. at Taunton.
Regards
Parry Edwards
