[WED]Newspapers

Apart from the Wedmore Chronicles, does anyone know if there are any
newspapers/journals for the Wedmore area indexed or even not indexed and
where they are? I am sure there must be something in them to explain why so
many Wedmorians decided to immigrate - advertisements or testimonials or
something. Australia advertised its assisted passage schemes which were in
operation since early 19th century but I don't think America had one?
