Hi Martin,
This e-mail has been bothering me and decided to respond--and am doing the response to the entire List as feel we should share these concerns.
I remember your earlier e-mail related to the Millard/Mapstone connection in Council Bluffs. I particularly noted it as there are Millards in my mother's
family although not direct line to me. And also because I am an Iowan by birth--father's family lived in Shenadoah (near Council Bluffs for those of you
unfamiliar with Iowa) and I had been through CB many times. I did not respond because I did not know the line you were working on and really have minimal info
on any of the Millards in our line. I am still inquiring regarding a George Millard, father of Ann who married Wm Parker 14 May 1840.
And there are times when I post an inquiry that I don't get any response--for example I asked the other day if anyone was researching Parkers. I assume no one
reading the e-mail was. However, I have found many, many times over that even several years later, someone may respond! I left info in a guest book for
Racine Co, WI and had several responses (incl. from Roger Roper who is on the Wedmore List) but not until at least a year had past. One never knows! And I
am on several lists and find that there are times when the lists are very active and other times when they are quiet. We all get caught up in living and have
to put the research on the back burner at times. My comments are to share that I don't think that there are "cliques" --maybe I am naive--but I have had
responses from many folks who are on this list when they had something to contribute to my search. Sometimes they are sent to the List but often are sent
directly to me. I do like to respond to the entire list many times in hope that someone scanning through will also have info to share. These Wedmore folks
seem to have inter-married, moved together to the states, etc and so one never knows when we will make a connection. The subject on this e-mail I am replying
to has a WALL and we have them, too!!
