Benjamin was born in 1828 in West Pennard. His father Robert Coombs Mapstone
was born illegitimate in 1788. He was baptised 22 June 1788 in Wemore., the
son of James Mapstone and Mary Coombs, who married 5 Sept. 1791 in Wedmore.
Robert legally changed his name to Robert Coombs Mapstone after 1818.
Robert married Ann Ham 24 April 1815, in Wedmore.
I have been researching the Mapstones of Wedmore for about 4 years, and
although there are a few loose ends I think I have got the family details
correct.
