I thought the list might be interested in some of the comments that were 
added to the Wedmore Burial Register. There are others, but they are not easy 
to read.

9th May 1835, George HARVEY, aged 63.  Dropped down dead as he was holding 
the plough.
24th March 1835, George BROWN, aged 74. By visitation of Almighty God.
2nd May 1843, Isaac FRANCIS, aged 31. Died in consequence of the 3rd bell 
turning over while he was ringing it. 
24th January 1852, Jeffrey SILLER, aged 81. Found dead in his bed. Visitation 
of God.
6th August 1859, Hannah COUNSEL, aged 70. Asiatic Cholera - reported.
16th August 1859. Thomas DUCKETT, aged 30. In consequence of a fall from his 
horse.
20th April 1866, Robert TINCKNELL, aged 74. Found drowned.
10th May 1867, John Kemp Thorne, aged 73, Vicar of Wedmore 1827-1876.
30th July 1868, John BISGROVE, aged 56. Killed by fall from cart.
19th January 1869, Samuel NICHOLLS, aged 62. Found drowned, missing 3 weeks.
30th May 1873, George TOOMER, aged 29. Found drowned.
14th August 1873, Philip HARDING, aged 38. Felo de Se.
4th November 1874, Robert WHITE, aged 42, an officer in Wells Lunatic Asylum. 
Drowned whilst of unsound mind.
30th November 1876, Frederic Henry KNOWLES, aged 54, of The Swan Inn, 
Wedmore. From an accident out hunting.
13th March 1878, George POPLE, aged 54. Drowned in a ditch by the road 
between Rodney Stoke and Cocklake.
24th December 1880, Mary TYLEY, aged 93, of Combe Batch. The oldest 
inhabitant.
31st July 1882, Henry ANDREWS, aged 41. Served 26 years in the Army.
6th August 1882, Albert LATCHAM, aged 18 months. Run over by cart.
8th October 1882, William MARSHALL, aged 61.Served 28 years in the Army.
18th February 1883, William STONE, aged 43. Died very suddenly whilst 
delivering letters at Clewer. Served 28 years in the Army.
6th July 1883, Robert SWEET, aged 20. Drowned while bathing in the Brue on 
Sunday July 1st.
3rd June 1883, Absolom SLOCOMBE, aged 15. From an injury caused by a ??? tree 
falling on him during the gale of April 29th 1882.
17th June 1885, John Veal HARDING, aged 16. Drowned bathing in the Clay Pits, 
Sunday morning June 14th.
14th February 1886, Mary LEIGH, age 19. Accidentally shot by her brother 
February 8th. Cor: Inq:
21st February 1886, Edward TINCKNELL, aged 10. Tetanus caused by an injury 
received in jumping C???
9th July 1887, John Tutton BANWELL, aged 45. Accidentally drowned in a ditch 
at Watchfield, returning from Highbridge market.
25th March 1887, Susannah PITT, aged 81. Found dead in a rhyne in Tedham 
Moor. Was of West Lydford, from which had been missing since December 27th. 
The body worked down the Brue. Cor; Inq: suicide whilst of unsound state of 
mind.
31st December 1888, William RIDGE, aged 34. Found dead in the mail cart, 
Banwell; died whilst driving it from Weston s Mare to Wedmore.
25th February 1896, Charles HOPKINS, aged 33. Very suddenly. Died in the 
Board School porch.
