As threatened, more data! However, working on the assumption that you =
may be getting bored with the previous sources, I have rung the changes =
slightly:

Extracts from Visitation 1594 and 'Smale Booke' 1593-5
In a nutshell, Visitations (held every three years or so) were used to =
enforce church law, and rectify "faults" discovered in the various =
parishes.
The "Smale Booke" seems to have been a private record made by the Clerk =
of the Peace for his own use or interest. Both contained information I =
hope you will find interesting.

3 July app. And conf. That Nicholas Smith misusing certain maidens in =
the churchyard reprehended him whereupon the said Nicholas gave the said =

him and no otherwise neither did he give him any foul word; prepared to =
avow. Enjoined to purge 5th hand. 6 July app. Pronounced to incur the =
statutory punishment, viz., the penalty of sentence of excomm., to be =
