I have these names in my family history starting with Johannis Willis (b abt
1670 Wedmore/Bagley) then through John Willis (b abt 1698), James Willis (b
1741 m Lydia Wade 1762), George Willis (b 1766 m Grace Puddy 1791), George
Willis (b. 1794 m Sarah Lewis 1816), William Willis (b 1820 Bagley m
Elizabeth Hodges of Stanton Drew at Chelwood 1845) they migrated to
Garndiffaith, Monmouthshire (Trevethin Reg Dist.) in 1845 from where they are
recorded on the 1881 and 1891 censuses. If ever I have sight of it they
should be on the 1901 census as well !! If anyone is interested, I have
details of the next six generations of Willis.
