  Hello John Hayward in Surrey,
I was particularly interested in your listing of the descendants =
of Mary Wall and her husband Richard Baker
who were married at Wedmore on 14 Dec 1778 , as Mary Wall is my first =
cousin six times removed being the daughter of Jonathon Wall and Mary =
Brown my fifth great grand aunt.
However I would like to point out that you are in error in =
stating that their daughter Mary Baker ( who was baptised 22 Aug 1798 ) =
married James Millard in 1824.She did in fact marry William Morgan on 10 =
Feb 1820.Two of their sons were named Richard Baker Morgan and Joseph =
Baker Morgan. She can be found in the 1851 Census living in Blackford and =
listed as a land proprietor. She died at Westham aged 60 in February =
1858. Her brother Joseph married Hannah Brown and was one of the =
enumerators for the 1851 Census.
The James Millard that you mention married a Mary Baker in =
Wedmore on 19 Aug 1824 and can be located in the 1851 Census in East =
Brent. His wife Mary is listed as 59 years old and born at Chilton =
Polden. This is quite a different person!
By the way if anyone else has done much research on the Bakers I =
am looking for the parents of the Jane Baker that married William Wall =
who subsequently emigrated to the States with his second wife Eliza Ann =
Cox. The Jane Baker living in Wedmore in 1851 appears to have married =
Gabriel Cox but there is a Jane Baker in Meare born circa 1841 the =
Daughter of Benjamin Baker and his wife Elizabeth
nee Hopkins. If anyone can help me with this I would be delighted to =
hear from you.
Its great reading all the mail from the group and I have learned =
alot already. Best wishes to everyone.
