  Dear John,

I would be glad to send you the gedcom but I have to reenter some of =
my data, as a hunk of it went missing. If you send me your mailing =
address, I would be glad to send you some pages from my word perfect =
files. =20

I will not be able to get to reentering for a while, as I have to =
catalogue a family collection for a university library.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

  Very sincerely, Mary Thacher

      Dear John Hayward,

I was delighted to have more on Hester Tyley's ancestry! Thank =
you for getting in touch with me. It makes it interesting to know =
that the wife of William Tyley was Susannah Gibbs as there were Gibbs =
who went to Dyersville IA with members of the Dyer family about 1849..

Dyersville is in DubuqueCounty IA, on the Maquoteka River, 40 =
miles west of Dubuque City. Farley IA is about 10 miles to the southeast =
of Dyersville. James Dyer founded Dyersville and Manchester, seat of =
Delaware County, another 30 miles to the west of Dyersville.

There was a Paul Tyley, ae 28 who came to Dyersville with James =
Dyer Sr., and Hester Tyley Dyer his wife in 1849. They sailed on the =
Sarah Sands, a steamship out of Liverpool and arrived in NYC on 2 may =
1849. John Dyer who married Hester Tyley was also on this ship: this =
Hester Dyer was the daughter of John and Hannah Tyley. Enclosed as an =
attachment are my notes on this family, which may be of interest (and =
which surely need editing!)

Thank you for your email. =20

      Very sincerely,

      Mary M. Thacher

        Whoopee

        Hello cousin Mary

I, and my cousin Tim Curtin in Canberra, Australia are 3rd great =
nephews and 2nd cousins, 6 times removed of Hester Tyley, baptised 4th =
June 1792 and daughter of William and Susanna Tyley, late Gibbs.

Look at the family on rootsweb and search for Hester Tyley, born =
1792 and you should find her on my site.

Then please come back to me and I can send you much more via =
GEDCOM and no doubt you will reciprocate.

Where abouts is Dyersville? There really should be a Wedmore =
descendants club in Iowa.

        Best wishes

I am hoping that the letter I sent earlier from the Polders of =
Dyersville will appear on the mailing lists. If you had trouble =
downloading it, do let me know and I will send you a copy snail mail.

Meanwhile I hope that someone can help me to find the name of =
the mother of James M. Dyer, founder of Dyersville. His mother was =
named Mary, she was the first wife of James Dyer of Burrington and =
Yatton, they married before 11 June 1814 when their first son, John Dyer =
was baptised in Yatton. I have found no marriage record for this =
couple. Mary --- Dyer died in Yatton and was buried on 28 may 1823 at =
the age of 28. James M. Dyer was born in 1820. They had five children, =
one of whom died young.

James Dyer was of Banwell when he married his second wife, =
Jane Harden, on 11 may 1824. They had three children. By the time she =
died before 28 february 1831 when she was buried in Yatton, she was of =
Wedmore and 38 years old.

James Dyer married on 28 december 1831 Hester Tyley of =
Wedmore, the daughter of William Tyley. She emigrated with him to Iowa =
and by the time she died in 1883, they had never been apart since they =
were married! James Sr. died in 1884 in Dubuque, having outlived his =
son James M. by 20 years.

Your mailroom is full of interesting information! =
Congratulations on the website!

          Best wishes, Mary M. Thacher
Great great granddaughter of James M. Dyer
