Is anyone else, perchance, researching the families of Philip CHAPMAN =
and Ann LEIGH, who married at Wedmore on 6th September 1763? I am =
having nightmares trying to resolve dates, parentage, etc., and am =
hoping that someone else may have been able to make greater sense of the =
available data than I have.

The only Philip CHAPMAN I have found that may fit was baptised in 1722, =
making him at least 41 when he married; as this seems slightly "mature" =
for a (presumably) first marriage, I'm a bit uncertain as to whether or =
not he is "my" Philip CHAPMAN. His wife, Ann LEIGH (again assuming I've =
got the right one) was baptised in 1733, making her at least 33 when she =
married - again somewhat more "mature" than the norm.

Their daughter, Sabra/Sebra CHAPMAN is described as being "age 2" at her =
baptism in 1793; this I have been able to prove wrong. She was =
described as being aged 70 years at her death in 1849, so her newly =
calculated birth date of 1779 gives her a marriage age of 27/28. With =
these figures, her mother Ann would have been about 46 when Sabra was =
born, much more believable than the previously projected age of 60!

Many thanks for reading this - even more thanks will be available for =
resolving it!
