Hello Lyn -
You're confused?!
Right, let's get this in logical order:
Philip CHAPMAN, senior, married Ann LEIGH on 9th June 1763 at Wedmore. =
Amongst their offspring they had:
1/ Philip CHAPMAN junior, baptised at Wedmore in 1764, and
2/ Sebara (Sebra/Sabra) CHAPMAN whose birth year of 1779 can only be =
deduced from her age at her death in 1849 (70 years old) because Sebara =
appears never to have been baptised.
Confusingly, Philip CHAPMAN junior also married an Ann. They also had a =
daughter called Sebara (Sabra) who was baptised at Wedmore in 1795. On =
the PR entry it states that she is 2 years old.
Thus the confusion had arisen because there were two lots of Philip and =
Ann CHAPMANs, and two Sebara/Sabras - the aunt and the niece, but only =
one baptism date, which I, and others, wrongly assumed was for the aunt =
who was born in 1779.
Please tell me I've got that right someone, because a nervous breakdown =
this way comes!
The only issue I have listed for the marriage of Richard and Sebara are =
Isaac, born 1808, and Charles, born 1812. Don't read anything into =
that, Lyn! I'm sure there must be more, but I was concentrating only on =
direct line ancestors for the time being, as I thought this would be =
less stressful. HA HA!!
Cheers!
Pass the Prozac.
Sue
