[Mathew Ducket]

I have just come across an Edward & Sarah Duckett who settled in Dubuque
County, Dyersville in March 1866. Three years later they moved to Clayton
County, & on to Bucanan County (Stanley) in March 1871. They then had 81
acres, but increased this to 457 acres (in Madison & Buffalo townships) by
the time they retired in 1900.
This material comes from a family history by Mrs. Jemima Thom. It was
probably written in the early 1960s and updated a few years later. This was
a large family with eight surviving children all of whom had offspring. At
least five generations are covered. In 1881 Edward's sister Elizabeth Popham
(a
Duckett by birth & first marriage) & her daughter Rosina Popham (Duckett by
birth), joined him. Mother & daughter had married father (Edwin) & son
(Stephen). Is there anyone about with an interest in Pophams? Matthew
