Hi John,
I've got a note of the salient 1851 census entry for Wedmore, as per my
posting:
(From Census 2, Coombe Batch, Mill Lane, Flood Street)
> > 102
> > WRIDE Charles 55 Ag. Lab South Brent, Som.
> > Jane 50 Stoll Somerset
> > William 11 Scholar Wedmore, Som.
> > John 9 Scholar Wedmore, Som.
> > Elizabeth 14 Wedmore, Som.
What I'm hoping to see is either the 1841 or 1861 census for this family, as
I still don't know where Jane was born; "Stoll" could mean any number of
places, and chances are that another census might give better detail. I
haven't actually got Gordon Beavington's wonderful census transcription yet,
but I've been dropping heavy hints to all the family, and with Xmas coming
up, I am ever the optimist!
Hope the research is going well?
Best wishes,
Sue Hembury-Kellow
