Emma GANDFIELD (an infant) who has been suffering from an infectious disease
returned to school on Monday last.

Frank, Bessie and Charles REED and Sophia and Delilah HATCH have not been to
school this week, owing it is said, to their parents being about to
emigrate.

Monday Aug 6 1883

A Private adventure or Dames school has opened today at Cocklake to which
several children are gone.

On Thursday afternoon 14 of the upper boys and the Master left school at 3
o'clock to attend the funeral of Alfred CURTIN, till lately a scholar at
this school. His favourite hymn "abide with Me" was sung by the boys at the
funeral service.

Fri Jan 25th 1884

Wrote a letter this morning to the attendance officer pointing out that a
lad names Richard FISHER was again being illegally employed by Mr Jos
LARDER. Complaints to the same effect have previously been made.

Questioned Richard FISHER and Henry Tincknell as to their absence from
school yesterday afternoon. They are two of the bad lot from Guildhall St.

9 Aug 1887 p. 191

Thomas Webber of Cocklake began to bring water to the school, the school
well being dry. this is the 4th time in 9 years.

Selina FISHER absent 7 weeks. Mary Fisher in work whole of 7 weeks.

27 Jan 1888 p. 200

Chas Tincknell has gone to live in Godney.

6th Feb 1888 p. 201

Chas Tincknell of Stand 111 who had gone to Theale to live,returned today
thus "changing house" twice within a fortnight.

1888/89 - there was a diphtheria epidemic. 1891 measles epidemic.

16 Nov 1891

John FISHER and Herbert WILLIAMS both in fifth standard returned today after
many weeks absence.
