Hi Fay,
Reading your post I am not exactly sure what information you are =
looking for? However I have the following.
Edward Brown the son of William Brown and Hannah Batt was born =
about 1765 and baptised on 4 Mar 1790 at Wedmore. He married Ann Hill at =
Wookey on 27 Jul 1790. They then apparently moved to Stawell where sons =
John and William were born. A third son Edward was baptised at Wookey on =
11 Dec 1796 but could well have been born at Stawell. Very soon after =
this they moved to Godney , Meare. There is a burial in the Wedmore =
parish records on 13 Jan 1797 for Ann wife of Edward Brown of Heron Farm =
, Meare. It would appear that Edward remarried about 1798 another Ann =
and that they had about ten or eleven children of whom seven survived =
infancy. The first five were girls , Mary Ann , Sarah and Hannah =
baptised Godney between 1799 and 1805. Then Maria and Elizabeth baptised =
at Wookey 12 Sep 1808 and 25 Jan 1811 respectively. The last two =
children were Joseph and George baptised at Wedmore in 1814 and 1818. =
Edward died at Mudgley in Dec 1823 aged 59 and his wife Ann in Sep 1847 =
aged 70.
The Browns of Wedmore on the whole are rather difficult to follow =
but I would be pleased to help you with any additional information.
Best wishes,
Stephen L . Brown slb2@ix.netcom.com

Hello Everyone,
=20
I am researching the family of George BROWN, who was christened in =
Wedmore in 1818, the son of Edward Brown and Ann ? of Mudgley.
=20
Also living at Mudgley was William Brown who married Phoebe TOOGOOD in =
1817.=20
William was christened at Stawell in 1793.
=20
A brother, Edward, was christened in Stawell in 1794.
It seems likely that Edward of Mudgley is this brother but as he died =
before 1847 I have not been able to confirm his birthplace on the 1851 =
Census.
=20
Is anyone able to help with this family or with any suggestions.
Thanks,
Fay Edgar
