Hi to John and Stephen and Tim (and everyone else!)
I will try and answer questions as best I can about this family that =
every one has, then maybe someone will have answers to contribute to the =
questions I still have at the bottom.
My g.g.grandfather, William WALL, son of William Taverner and Elizabeth =
(WALL) WALL bap.30 May 1833 DID have a sister Mary Ann WALL bap.11 =
Nov.1837.
I BELIEVE this is the same Mary Ann WALL who married John Green COMER. =
This is what I know about their family:
John Green COMER was b. 1843-44 in (Wedmore?) married abt 1865-66 (in =
Wedmore?) to Mary Ann WALL b.bef.11 Nov. 1837 in Wedmore. Marriage date =
is based on the date of birth of their first known child. They =
emigrated abt. 1876 (this is all based on a biography about the son, =
John COMER) to Dubuque Co., IA. Based on the 1880 census for Dodge =
Township, Dubuque County, IA their family statistics show:
John G. COMER Self M M W 36 ENG =20

Stephen mentioned that a John Green Comer mar. 2nd to Amelia Elizabeth =
PITMAN, dau. of William Pitman baptized Edington 20 Aug 1831. WHO was =
baptized then - Amelia or William? If it was Amelia she is a great deal =
older than John G. Comer - and if she was the second wife, then she =
married him after 1880 when she would have been 49, and likely past the =
child-bearing age, let alone to have six more children.
WHEN and WHERE did they marry? In Iowa? Something just doesn't quite =
add up here based on the information I have so far :o) John G. COMER =
(the son of John G. and Mary Wall Comer) married Catherine COLEMAN in =
1906.
