Hi Nancy,
Jane Tincknell b 29 Aug 1849 in Burlington, WI d. 31 May 1903 in Leon,
Decatur Co, IA. She was the daughter of George and Betsey Roper
Tincknell of Wedmore. Jane was the oldest sister of my gr-grandmother
Amelia Tincknell Parker. Jane married James H. Evans 12 Dec 1866 in
Dyersville. He was a Civil War veteran. They had eleven children, five
were living at the time of Jane's death. James & Jane Tincknell Evans
are buried in the cemetery in Leon.
I don't have marriages for their children--don't know exactly when the
Evans moved from the Dyersville area to Leon, do know there were other
Evans living in Leon--so don't know if there was any relationship with
your kin. Seems as though they did socialize with others from Somerset
after they moved to the states.
