Hi Karla

There are all sorts of groups in family history and many other hobbies.

Suggest the start is the Wedmore Exchange since many seem to come in dealing
with Iowa, then if there is a general interest start emailing each other,
associate yourselves with a family history society in Des Moines or any
where else in Iowa. Then start recording as many of the emigrants you can
find from all sorts of services such as Ellis Isle etc.

Ask any family history magazines in Iowa to mention the proposed Wedmore
association, perhaps the press in general, local radio etc.

For a start I have Pitman, Comer and Walters to whom I'm related that went
from Wedmore, or the immediate area, to Iowa.

I have email addresses of some descendants of the above who went to Iowa to
start with.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes

John
