Hi Elaine,

I am of a WALL line in Dubuque Co. also. My g.g.grandparents were William
WALL bap May 30, 1833 and Jane BAKER bap 15 Feb 1829, probably married in
Wedmore though I haven't found record of their marriage as yet. They had
only one child, my great grandmother, Amelia Jane (Wall) Greenwood. Jane
(Baker) Wall died bet. July 1860 and April 1861(probably due to
complications of Amelia's birth) when William remarried Eliza Ann COX.

William and Eliza had four children in Wedmore before moving to Dubuque
County. I have seen your William and Amelia in the census and often
wondered if they might possibly have been related to each other. My William
is the son of William Taverner and Elizabeth (Wall) Wall. They lived in
the Johns Creek area south of Farley and relatively close to your William
Wall. I would be interested in swapping data with you as it is probable
that they are related, you may have enough ancestry to know for sure.

Subject: [WED]New to list - WALL - Wedmore to Dubugue Iowa

I am new to the list, but have been reading the archives and find quite a
few references to Wall and Iowa.

First the basics: My G Grandmother Annie Elizabeth Wall was born in Wedmore
Aug 1862. She was the daughter of William Wall (believed to have been born
July 1835 - and baptized Wedmore 27 Aug 1835, son of Robert Wall & Sarah.)
and Amelia Wall, nee Wall, baptized 11 Mar 1841, daughter of William &
Elizabeth Wall, nee Tyley ? . Amelia may be the Amelia Wall on the Free
B/M/D site born Dec 1838 Axbridge - I don't know yet.

By the 1880 US census, the family was in Cascade, Dubuque Iowa arriving
sometime between 1862 and 1869 based on where the children were born.

I would enjoy hearing from anyone who thinks they have a link.
Also, I have some Wedmore (Only WALL) monumental Inscriptions I transcribed
in 1986 and some WALL baptisms not already on the list. I also have copies
of page 73 (Aug-Sept. 1835) & page 129 (Mar 1841) from the Wedmore baptism
book.
Is there a way to send this to be included ?
I will be in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset next month and hope to visit
Wedmore again. Last time in Wedmore, I was seeking information for my
mother who did most of the original research and has since passed away. I
am just getting back to this line after 16+ years.
