Perhaps that was it - ether way a dead end and a shame for us and Eric =
after all the work he undoubtedly did in his research.
This prompts me to ask that everyone who has family history data to make =
sure it is bequethed to someone who takes an interest and otherwise =
does'nt mind sharing the info.
Or gets sent to the public domain in such forms as the Wemore web-site.=20
Such a shame to see Eric's work as unaccessable.
Thanks
Martin.

I spoke to Eric's sister/sister-in-law (not sure which now) when I was =
there in August last year. She told me his son had it but that he was =
not interested in continuing research or swapping info.

The Coombs-Mapstone continued to be used for another two generations =
according to my records of Benjamin-Coombs and then his son =
Robert-Coombs.
I have no record of a Sally Coombs B 1820 so that is someone to look =
out for.
As to the late Eric Banwell I understand all of his research =
dissappeared upon his death - am I mistaken ?=20
    I sincerely hope I am.

Hi Joe, I have just received the death certificate for the Hester =
Mapstone registered in Wells in the September 1/4 1842 and she was the =
daughter of George Mapstone and Ann Wiseman of Yarley, Wookey.=20
As for Hester Coombs Mapstone, the daughter of Robert Coombs =
Mapstone it seems strange that although in the 1841 Census the family is =
shown as Mapstone, he calls himself just Robert Coombs at Hester's =
marriage in 1843. In the 1841 Census Hester Coombs Mapstone is shown as =
aged 17.
I was informed by the late Eric Banwell that Robert Coombs legally =
changed his name to Mapstone between the birth of his daughters Sally =
Coombs in 1820 and Hester Mapstone in circa 1824.

      Regards Stan Mapstone
