Is there any other information about this record, i.e. Maria's age, mother's
name, John's place/ area of residence? There are four possible Johns; two
were probably too poor to afford one pound, a third is unlikely as he was
the parish clerk, that leaves John 1763- 1848 as best candidate. Matthew.
