Hi Sandi
I am not an expert but if you needed relief (i.e. financial support) then
you had to get it from your own parish, so if you were in another they sent
you back to the one to which you belonged. I *think* a married woman
belonged to that of her husband. I also *think* you could apply for
settlement in another parish but I am not sure how that came about.
One of the others can probably inform us more on that or there would be
something on the web somewhere for sure.
