Hello Joy,

I have in my Brown family a William Evans who married Sarah Brown in =
Wedmore 7 March, 1820. Sarah was the daughter of Edward Brown and Ann =
Clark of Mudgley. Her sister Maria married Richard Evans but I don't =
think these Evans are from the same family. William Evans (of =
Bridgewater) was an executor of Ann Brown's will, 9 October 1847. In =
another part of the will Sarah Evans was said to be of Brinscombe. I =
have not found it on my maps.
Sarah's siblings married into the families of Hill, Toogood,
Tyley and Pook. Further back in the Pook family is Ann Roper who married =
Charles Boon in 1758.

Hope this is helpful,

Fay Edgar

  Hi, =20
I'm new to the list and wondered if anyone had further information =
on the above or their spouses. I have William Roper b unk d 2-24-1798 =
married Anne Williams 1771. I descend from their son Hugh Roper b abt. =
1774, Wedmore d April 8, 1846, Crickham. (My cousins Sandi and Kristin =
who are on this list, also descend from Hugh and William Roper.) My =
line from Hugh and his second wife Jane Davis is his daughter Jane Roper =
who married Samuel Evans, February 28, 1849, Axbridge. Samuel Evans =
father was William Evans birthdate unk. who we believe was born in =
Bristol. I do not know the wife of William Evans. Their children were =
Samuel Evans b 1823, Cheddar or Bristol, Forest Evans b 1815 m Eliza =
McDonigal, Flower Evans b Abt. 1812 m John Irish, Fannie Evans b Abt. =
1818, m John Lumber, Elizabeth Evans, Harriet Evans, Sarah Evans b abt. =
1822, and Edwin Evans b 1825. Most of the children were married in =
Axbridge. We believe that they were living in Cheddar and grew up there =
but may not have all been born there. Also, I have no information for =
Jane Davis, Hugh Roper's second wife. Her birth years vary from 1874 to =
1894, however, I believe it may have been closer to 1884. I have not =
found a marriage record yet for her and Hugh.=20
Any idea on how to locate more information? Thank you for any help.=20
