Many thanks for your kind reply Jeanne.

I have in fact a number of relations, all from Wedmore ancestors, in =
Australia.

In 2002 I stayed with a first cousin, Tim Curtin, Canberra for 4 weeks =
and we're hoping to come out again, perhaps 2006.

Tim and I are descended from so many Wedmorians that anyone who was in =
Wedmore for 2/3 generations prior to perhaps 1850 seems to be related to =
us somehow. A month ago my fiance and I stayed in Wedmore and reckoned =
I'm related somehow to over half those who have gravestones still =
visable.

Have you any idea where your Uria and William came from? They should =
appear in the 1851 census somewhere and the 1851 Somerset Census is =
available on a CD and the details can be found on the Wedmore site I =
gave you.

Best wishes

John=20

Best wishes

John - how can I thank you? I am so delighted to receive this =
information. Usually my requests fall on deaf ears. I knew nothing of =
these ancestors of mine apart from their marriage date so I am quite =
ecstatic at being able to add some more details to my records. THANK =
YOU SO MUCH.
If I can ever help you in any way with research here in Australia I =
would be very pleased to do so.
My very best wishes to you regarding your own research.
  Jeanne.

    Hi Jeanne

    Hope this helps.

    Wedmore Registers

    Page 133, record number 397

Uriah Williams married Elizabeth Beach by Banns 15th August 1831 by =
John Kempthorne, Vicar. Both marked the register with a cross (their =
marks), as did one of the witnesses, James Matthews. The other witness =
was John Duckett, Clerk - and ancestor of mine!

    Happy hunting

    John V Hayward

I would very much appreciate any information regarding the =
following: Uriah WILLIAMS married Elizabeth BEACH on 15 August 1831 in =
St Mary's Church, Wedmore. =20
It would be nice to hear from anyone who may be researching this =
family.
      Here's hoping!
      Best wishes from Jeanne,
      Sydney, Australia
