I have been watching this mail on the Millards with interest. =
Particularly since I have a possible connection with a George Millard. =
However, I know that the George Millard I am seeking is born at an =
earlier date. His daughter, Ann has the following on the parish =
marriage record:
14 May 1840 Ann Millard, Minor, spinster, farmer, Wedmore, father George =
Millard, land-surveyor. =20
I don't know what age would still be considered "minor"? From the 1841 =
census it looks like she was 19.
Ann married William Parker, full age, bachelor farmer of Wedmore, son of =
William Parker, carpenter. The 1841 census shows this William Parker as =
age 25, wife Ann age 20 with a son George age 6 months. That would give =
Wm a birth yr abt 1816.

My great-great grandfather was Joseph Parker b. 29 March 1820 in =
Wedmore, his father was also William. I have found 2 William Parkers =
who might be this father--
William Parker, b. 1788 to William & Ann Parker OR
William Parker, b. 1795 son of James & Savannah Parker.
I have never been able to find any baptismal record for Joseph, or =
anything other than that his father was William. A biography of his =
eldest son, William Walter Parker, states "during his boyhood and youth =
Joseph Parker labored in the fields during the day and in the evening =
worked in a shop, showing the long hours one had to work at that time in =
England." He married Ann Radford, dau. of John Radford "of =
Somersetshire", in Toronto, Canada in 1848. The census of 1851 =
indicated "no religion" for Joseph which may be why I can not find a =
baptism.

So if any one has records which might connect this George Millard, =
daughter Ann m. to Wm Parker with my Joseph Parker I would be most =
grateful!
Sandi
