Ann Chapman may or maynot be the mother of Richard Fear.  Richard used the alias of Chapman & I am told that Susannah his wife's maiden name was Chapman.  Susannah's parents could be (& I stress could be) Joseph Chapman b 6 Apr 1707 Wedmore, wife unknown.  Joseph's parents were Joseph Chapman b c 1666 who wed Ann Paymaster 30 Mar 1706 Wedmore.  Joseph's parents were Walter Chapman b c1640 who married Susan (possibly Russell?) bc1644 d Feb 197/98 Wedmore.  Does anyone have anymore information on this family? Particulary Richard Fear alias Chapman, the question is whether Richard was illigitimate & used his mother's name as alias - Chapman & Fear being his 'Stepfather/real father?' or Chapman was his wife's maiden name.  Dilemma?  Can anyone help me with my brick wall Regards Pauline
