Hi

Vivian should contact Michael Duckett through Wedmore Lists for much =
better info than I can offer.

However re Percy Duckett, there was no war in South Africa in 1896, =
apart from the Jameson raid - the Boer War was 1899-1902.

Best regards

Tim

  Feedback: Great site!

I know we are related a long way back as I go back to your Cecelia =
Tincknell. Anyway at the moment I am curious about your Thomas Duckett, =
born in 1839 in Weare, Somerset, England. My Great Grandfather was =
Thomas Duckett born in 1839 in Weare and he had a son Michael, although =
I am not sure of his birth year. Thomas was married to Martha Pearce in =
the second quarter of 1869 at Bedminster, Somerset. I believe she was =
born in 1846 in Winford, Som. Their other children were:

  Fanny Gertrude Duckett 1870

  Percy Charles Duckett 1872

  Herbert E. Duckett 1874

Arthur Edward Duckett Nov. 26, 1875 (my grandfather)

  Rosa Mary Duckett 1878

Hugh Cecil Duckett Jul. 15, 1883

  Ernest Alfred Duckett

  Minnie Duckett

Percy Charles was killed Nov. 23, 1896 in the South African War

Arthur Edward came to North America on 4 seperate occasions finally =
settling in Enderby BC in 1920 where he farmed for the rest of his life. =
He died Oct. 23, 1942. He was married to Annie Luff from Mark, =
Somerset, May 16, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She was born, =
Jan. 20, 1883.

Rosa Mary married Francis Champeny from Blackford, Som.

The only other one I know anything about was Hugh Cecil and he came to =
Canada with Grandpa on one of his trips here and then went to New =
Zealand where he spent the rest of his life. I do have a little more on =
his and Rosa's family's if you think this is the right Thomas Duckett.

Looking forward to hearing from you

  Vivian
