Dear all
Thnaks to John Hayward's trancriptions, I find that Charles Radford was
baptised at St Mary's on 26 December 1833; his father was indeed a labourer.
Charles was it seems the 10th and last of the children of John Radford and
his wife Jane.
If Emma Tincknell his bride was a spinster, she appears not to have been
baptised at St Mary's. Others of this family still live in Wedmore.
Regards
Tim

Hi Tim,
no Emma was nota spinster she was Emma Tincknell nee Counsel, my great great
grandmother. A John Radford has been found in the 1841 census with wife
Charlotte. Has John transcribed the marriages as it appears Jane died in
1837 on Michael's site and I can't see a remarriage to Charlotte up until
1839.

Forget that .... Charlotte appears to be a daughter not a new wife. Though
interestingly a John Radford does appear on Free BDM on the same page as
Charlotte Maria Veare in 1839 in Bristol.

Hi Lyn
I found Charles on the 1901 census...the only one I found him on in a quick
search.
He was living at Wookey, Rural District of Wells.
He was living alone in a 2 room house, was single, an ag lab, born in Wedmore.
Looks as though you need to read the LDS film # 1526769 which has baptisms
1813-1859 for Wedmore.
If you can wait a while I have a copy of that film on indefinite loan and
would look at it for you but I can't get to it for a week or two.
Hope this census info is of some use to you

Dear Robert and all
I think we have been in touch before; I do have details of a George Tutton
who was baptised in Wedmore on 16 January 1790; this George was son of
George Tutton and his second wife Mary Beale; by his first wife Maria Urch,
George senior had had a daughter Hannah who married Joseph Widcombe Baker,
and their descendants include the Toogoods of Wedmore, Meare and Westhay,
down to Horace Toogood, my 2nd cousin, whom I saw only last August, he lives
in Lympsham, he is a keen genealogist and may have more information on your
George Baker, so I will forward this to him.
Regards
Tim

My interest (or more precisely that of my wife Heather née Binning who was
born and brought up in Wedmore) in the Tuttons is as follows:
John Tutton bap at Wedmore 21 Apr 1780 married Jane Binning on 26 Apr 1798.
They had a son John Tutton who married Mary Bunn on 9 May 1843. She had
previously married Charles Tutton on 14 Apr 1829. (All marriages in
Wedmore.) Where George Tutton fits into this is not clear at this point.
Regards
Bill
