A John Lancastle of Mark was married in Wedmore in 1794 to Hannah Reeve of
Wedmore - probably they lived in Mark where any children would most likely
have been baptised.

Hello List,
This is my first posting. Can anyone help with the following please ?
The LANCASTLE surname and other derivations come up in Wedmore searches.
I am interested in a John LANDCASTLE born around 1800. His son William
was born in 1821 in St.James Bristol (I don't have William's b.c). No
other information on this gentleman other than he is listed on son
William's marriage certificate 12th May 1845 in Bristol and John's
occupation is shown as either Farmer or Farrier - the copy isn't good
enough to determine - if anyone has better eyesight I can e-mail a copy.
John isn't listed on the Bristol census for 1851.
I am also looking for information about John LANDCASTLE [Occupation
Merchant seaman] married Mary HALLIDAY daughter Mary born 14 April 1855 at
5 Charles's [or Charler's] Street, Parish of St Paul,Bristol.
John is possibly brother to William and older.
John LANDCASTLE was my ggggg-grandfather and it would be wonderful to see
if we can find out some more information.
The 'd' in LANDCASTLE disappeared in 1875 on my great-grandfather's George
LANCASTLE's birth certificate and since then we've been LANCASTLE.
Any help would be greatly appreciated or if you point me in some other
direction as I've run out of ideas. Thanks very much.
