Thanks for the information on your BAKER connections. Of course, the name
was a common one in Somerset and this makes things difficult!

My ancestor John BAKER was born in Halse in 1791, son of William BAKER and
Sarah SHORLAND. John had moved to Huntspill by the time he married Jane COX
there in 1815. They founded a large family of butchers who lived at East
Huntspill and even had a street named after them at one time, there were so
many of them living there!

As Taunton is not far from Halse, perhaps there is a connection, but this
may be difficult to prove!
