Hello James, I don't know a great deal about the Baker family as such but I
do keep coming against them in my research as they once lived all around
here. They have only died out in this area in recent times. Lot Baker lived
in Westham in 1851, at the moment I am not sure which house as there were
two Baker families living in the hamlet at that time, I will check it out. I
am related by marriage to the Champenys several times; this spelling seems
to be used in Blackford, while in Theale they use Champeney. I understand
they are all related. Notice that in your marriage record the spelling is
Champaney. Matthew.
