Hi James
The 1851 Census for Wedmore shows Lot Baker and a wife named Mary, plus 6
children with names matching those you mentioned as children of Lot and Ann
nee Rickard. Perhaps Ann had died and Lot remarried?
The John Baker who married Elizabeth Champeney was son of John Baker and
Hannah Wall, married in Wedmore in 1773.This John appears to have been the
son of a Joseph Baker of Banwell. Hannah Wall was daughter of Jonothan Wall
and Hannah nee Brown and Jonathan's line goes back to John Wall baptised in
Wedmore in 1561.
Elizabeth Champeney was a daughter of Stephen Champeney and Mary nee
Duckett; Stephen can be traced back (sometimes the name was spelt Champion)
to Richard Champeney baptised in Wedmore in 1563. The Wedmore baptisms,
marriages, and burials are available on line via Michael Tutton.
I myself am related to all these and the Bakers, so would be interested to
know more of Lot Baker's descendants.
Tim Curtin

Subject: [WED]Hello
> My name is James Baker. I've been researching my family history and
traced my ancestory back to this site. I am descended from John Baker who
married Eliabeth Champeney May 7th 1793. They had two children...Lot and
Elizabeth. Lot married Ann Rickard and had seven children. They are
Elizabeth, Mary, Richard, Phebe, Thomas, Sarah, and William. Richard or
Dickie, married Elizabeth Wall in 1851. They had seven children also. They
are George, Elizabeth, William, Jennie, Mary, Richard, and Louise.
Richard(Watt) married Edna Goodale.

end with John Baker and Elizabeth Champeney. If anybody has information
that might help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
