Hi Elaine

Amelia Wall was bap. 11/3/1841 to William and Elizabeth, Farmer of Heath
House. Page 129, record 1025.

William Wall was bap. 27/8/1835 to Robert and Sarah. possibly a Painter of
Wedmore. Page 73, record 581.

Quickly I could not see their marriage. A Wall was a founder member of the
local Methodist Chapel, the marriage may have been there. Alternatively did
they marry in the States.

We could well be related! I'll a spend bit of time on it over the weekend.

Look at names on <www.rootsweb.com>
Look for John Haward, born 1722 and then to Index.

> My Wedmore relative is William Wall (one of the many by that name).
> William, his wife Amelia Wall (nee Wall) and their two children came to
> Iowa.
> The date clues I have are as follows:
> 1. The 1900 US census for Farley Town, Dubuque Co., Iowa shows William
Wall
> (b. July 1835 - age 69) and his wife Amelia (born Jan 1841 - age 59), and
> states that they arrived in the US in 1864 and have been there 36 years.
It
> also indicates that William is naturalized and that they had 7 children
and
> 7 are still living.
> 2. The 1880 US census for Cascade, Dubuque Iowa shows the Wall family with
5
> of their 7 children living at home. Only 19 year old George S. Wall (born
> 1861) and 17 year old Annie Elizabeth Wall (b. Aug 1862) were born in
> England. This is also confirmed on the 1870 census where only the first
5
> children have been born, 2 in England and 3 in Iowa.
