Matthew:
Woodlawn Cemetery is in Alta, Buena Vista County, Iowa, USA where there are
other Wedmore folks buried including my great great grandparents, Joseph and
Bestey Roper Tincknell Parker. Another member of the Wedmore List, Kris
Watts, is an active member of the Buena Vista Co Geneology Society ( a
descendant of Betsey Roper's sister, Mary Anne Roper Hole Curry) and perhaps
she can answer additional questions for you.
I do have a copy of the cemetery book published by the genealogy society and
it lists William B. Duckett b. 30 July 1844 d. 26 May 1899; Minnie Mingus
(Duckett) daughter 1878-1960; Robbie F. Ham b. 16 Nov 1870 d. 3 March 1881;
Phoebe A. Duckett, Mother 1846-1930 buried together Center Section, Row 8.
I have made a notation in the margin "distant relationship" and also that I
sent the names to Lyn Nunn in Australia in July 2000 who indicated that HAM
was also a Wedmore name. It would appear that the daughter, Minnie, married
again after George Holmes since her name in 1960 was Mingus. It certainly
does seem that the material that was found by Joy Powney in Australia from
Ancestry.com corresponds with the information in the Woodlawn Cemetery Book.
Hope this is also useful for you.
