Hi Pat,

Yes, I was lucky to find the info myself - I stumbled upon it more through
luck than judgement! ;-) I was surprised to find that, despite him killing
her mother, Elizabeth NICHOLLS stayed with Sandy CREASE - she was with him
in 1861 (indeed, they had had a further child in 1858) and she was with
Sandy 'til he died in 1900. I haven't yet looked for the trial reports for
Sandy CREASE; if he was found guilty of any crime, his penalty can't have
been too severe, it seems.

The information I've managed to glean so far on the life/offspring of Hannah
ROGERS and John NICHOLLS is:

Hannah ROGERS was bap 28 Aug 1806, Wedmore, Somerset, daughter of William
ROGERS and Hannah VENN, who were married 13 Oct 1794, Wedmore, Somerset.
Hannah ROGERS died in October 1854, and was buried on 4 Nov 1854, Wedmore,
Somerset, with the inquest taking place on 30 Oct 1854.

Hannah ROGERS married John NICHOLLS on 24 Jul 1825, Wedmore, Somerset, and
they had at least seven children:

1. Elizabeth NICHOLLS, born circa 1825, Wedmore, Somerset; died 1905,
Axbridge District. Married Sandy CREASE, 1847, Axbridge District, and they
had at least four children:
	a) Ann/Anna CREASE, bap 11 Sep 1851, Wedmore.
	b) John CREASE/CREES, born 1854, Wedmore. Married Emma ENGLAND,
1873.
	c) George CREASE, born 1858, Wedmore.
	d) Frank CREASE, born c. 1861, Wedmore.

2. Hannah NICHOLLS, bap 22 Oct 1829, Wedmore, Somerset. Married Charles
HEMBRY/HEMBURY, 1853, Wedmore, Somerset. (Note: Charles HEMBRY was Hannah's
first cousin, being the son of Isaac HEMBRY and Elizabeth ROGERS. Hannah
[NICHOLLS] HEMBRY was one of the witnesses of the assault in 1854).
Hannah NICHOLLS and Charles HEMBRY had at least three children:
	a) Ellen HEMBURY, born c. 1857, Wedmore.
	b) George HEMBURY, born 1860, Wedmore.
	c) Betsy HEMBURY, born 1863, Wedmore. Married William NICHOLLS,
1884, Axbridge District (Note: William NICHOLLS was Betsy's first cousin,
being the son of Joseph NICHOLLS and Elizabeth ROGERS).

3. Mary Ann NICHOLLS, bap 4 Sep 1831, Wedmore, Somerset.

4. Joseph NICHOLLS, bap 6 Mar 1836, Wedmore, Somerset (twin?). Married (1)
Elizabeth ROGERS (unknown dates) and had at least seven children:
	a) John NICHOLLS, born c. 1856, Wedmore.
	b) William NICHOLLS, born c. 1858, Wedmore. Married 1st cousin,
Betsy HEMBURY (see above).
	c) Mary Ann NICHOLLS, born 1861, Wedmore.
	d) Robert NICHOLLS, born c. 1862, Wedmore.
	e) Elizabeth NICHOLLS, born c. 1866, Wedmore.
	f) Alice NICHOLLS, born c. 1871, Wedmore. Married William Henry
HARES.
	g) Hannah NICHOLLS, born c. 1879, Wedmore.

5. Mary NICHOLLS, bap 6 Mar 1836, Wedmore, Somerset (twin?).

6. Harriet NICHOLLS, bap 23 Jun 1839, Wedmore, Somerset.

7. Samuel NICHOLLS, bap 15 Jun 1845, Wedmore, Somerset.

I'm not sure what info you currently have - I have quite a bit on the ROGERS
family, for example. How does your husband descend from Hannah, by the way?

Best wishes,

Sue

Hi Susan,

Wow, Hannah was my husband's great grandmother - I hadn't picked this
up before so this is all news to me. Yes, please, if you have any more
information I'd really like to have it.
Thanks for sharing this piece of information.
