Dear Tim,

James Dyer was born in Burrington in 1754, son on William Dyer and =
Betsey ---. Grace Nickliss Burnett, wife of George Burnett was born c. =
1758, died 18 feb 1818 in Yatton and was buried there 26 feb. Her =
Burnett children were George, Ann, Betsy, Mary, and two children born in =
Yatton, Harriet bapt. 26 mar 1797, d. nov 1801, bur Yatton 2 nov 1801, =
and James bapt 14 sept 1800. =20

I think there must be a connection with the Meare Burnetts, in the =
letters from Somerset written by her sister in law to Anne Andrews Dyer, =
wife of James the Dyersville founder, she speaks quite a bit about the =
Burnetts. =20

There were no more records about the Burnetts in Yatton after the death =
of George Burnett, husband of Grace, who died in October 1802, and was =
buried there on 21 october.

Re the Polder letter in word perfect I will see if I can change it to =
Word for you, and will send it again. I would like to be able to =
confirm the connections between the Meare Burnetts and the Dyers.

Thanks, Mary Thacher

Dear Tim, I dont believe that James Dyer, grandfather of James the =
founder of Dyersville was the man who married Nancy Russell in Wedmore =
in 1789.

James Dyer Sr's first wife was Mary Sperrin 1750-1794; his second =
wife was Grace Burnett, widow of George Burnett, whom he married in =
1808. She died in 1818 in Yatton, he died in 1821 in Banwell.

Were the migrant James Dyers related to James Dyer who =
married Nancy Russell in Wedmore on 28 Sept 1789? The earlier James =
received an award in the Enclosure Act in association with Thomas Look.
