Attention: Matthew Duckett
Lyn Nunn suggested I contact Matthew Duckett & the rest of the list to =
see if any one would have information on a family I found in Burlington, =
Racine County, Wisconsin. =20
When I visited the cemetery in Burlington, WI three years ago I took =
photos of the graves of :
"Thomas Duckett 1803-1891 & Sarah Duckett 1809-1872. Natives Somerset, =
Eng."
Yesterday on a Burlington site I found when I entered the name TINCKNELL =
the following information:
Tincknell, Sarah (w/Thomas Duckett) b. 1809. maiden name obtained from =
relative. This is the only information that I have that she was a =
TINCKNELL.
I do not know when they reached the states but am unable to find them on =
the 1850 Federal Census in Wisconsin or anywhere in the US using =
Ancestry.com or RootsWeb. I did find the following information from the =
1880 census:
DUCKETT, Walter, 36, farmer, b. England, both parents b. Eng
Mercy, 33, keeping house, b. Wisconsin, both parents =
b. Eng
Herbert 8
Walter 5/12
THOMAS 77, father, b. England, both parents b. Eng
CADE, Harry 4, nephew b. Wisconsin, both parents b. Eng
Therefore, Thomas & Sarah's son Walter was born in England prior to =
emigrating to Wisconsin. CADE may also be linked with this family in =
England.
I am particularly interested in finding information about Sarah =
TINCKNELL DUCKETT. My 2 great grandfather George TINCKNELL settled in =
Burlington, Wisconsin abt 1848 and I am interested in seeing if there =
might be a relationship between Sarah and George. Does anyone have =
information on which TINCKNELL family that Sarah was from and any =
siblings she might have had? I am looking for an Ann TINCKNELL who =
married Charles BARTLETT 12/12/1821 and who may be George TINCKNELL's =
mother and any possible relationship between Sarah Tincknell Duckett & =
Ann Tincknell Bartlett.
Any assistance with information on these families would be most =
appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandi McGinnis
