through the public streets otherwise than under proper control.

Charles VOWLES, labourer, Wedmore, was summoned for assaulting John
TINCKNELL. Several witnesses having been called, the case was dismissed eac=

Elijah GARRETT, Wrington, was summoned for assaulting Louisa POPE. Mr
WEBSTER defended. For the assault defendant was fined 5s and costs, and for
using threatening language towards complainant=92s husband defendant was bo=

LLEWELLYN, presiding, the return showed 114 inmates in the Workhouse,
against 105 at the corresponding date last year. The expenditure in out

Committee were requested to report on the suggestion of Lord Courtenay,
Local Government Board Inspector, with regard to provision in case of fire,
